David T. Price, M.D.

Dr. Price obtained his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe and subsequently attended medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. He then completed his residency in urology and fellowship training in urologic oncology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. After completing his training in urologic oncology, he remained on staff at Duke University for three years with an appointment in Surgery, Pharmacology, and Cancer Biology where his primary clinical focus was genitourinary oncology. Dr. Price established a strong clinical and research reputation as a member of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center and he was a leader in the Duke Prostate Cancer Research Program.

Dr. Price has been the recipient of a number of academic awards including: a National Institute of Health Career Development Award, CAPCURE Young Investigator Award, American Foundation of Urologic Disease Research Scholar Award, and Pfizer Scholar in Urology. He has published numerous abstracts, manuscripts, and book chapters in the urological literature. He is considered to be one of the world’s leading experts in Urology with regard to alpha receptor biology as it relates to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and he has been invited to speak and participate in numerous national and international symposia.

Dr. Price is a member of numerous medical societies including the Society of Urological Oncology, Society of Surgical Oncology, American Urological Association, Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, Louisiana Urological Association, American Medical Society, and Louisiana Medical Society.

Dr. Price's hobbies include hunting, fishing, gardening and horseback riding.
