Patrick Springhart, M.D.
Dr. Springhart received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Dayton. He entered and finished medical school at Wright State University. While in medical school, he represented WSU at the state and national level in the American Medical Association. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for his residency training, during which time; Dr. Springhart was nominated for and received the John D. Silber award for clinical acumen and bedside manner amongst his peers in a nine state area. Thereafter, he spent two years at Duke University Medical Center for a robotic/laparoscopic and endourologic fellowship, wherein he helped to develop the robotic surgery program.
Dr. Springhart has published extensively in the urologic literature. He has authored and co-authored over a dozen publications and has been involved with the writing, publication, and presentation of over fifty abstracts at local, national, and international conventions. He has been an invited speaker on the national and international level regarding robotic prostatectomy. Additionally, he has written several book chapters and created videos on advanced surgical techniques for his peers. His interests are robotic and laparoscopic approaches to prostate and kidney cancers as well as a comprehensive approach to the surgical and medical management of complex kidney stones.
Dr. Springhart is a member of the American Urologic Association, American College of Surgeons, Louisiana State Medical Society and the Shreveport Medical Society.
